Hi- I have been on Imuran for about 4 months now.  Everyone in my house got a bad cold, including me.  The cold portion has pretty much run its course.  Except I think it settled in my ears and am pretty sure I have an ear infection.  I'm going to my Primary Doctor tommorow, and have a call into my GI.  My question is.  Can I take an antibiotic while taking imuran or will I have to go off Imuran?  Thanks.

I think you would be able to continue the Imuran, but since you are seeing your doc, I would run that by him. Good luck, I feel your pain, I have a terrible sinus infection right now, and it sucks.

The only time my docs have ever taken me off Imuran was for about 10 days [about 3 months after I started taking it] when my white count got too low. I have been on antibiotics 10 or 11 times during my 5 years on Imuran.
