I know it's a bad subject, but the last few weeks, maybe once or twice a week, when I have to go to the RR, I also have to vomit.  Is there something wrong there?  I keep trying to tell my doctor but he doesn't seem to get it....Thanks

Hi tiamarie, If I were you I would consider finding a new doctor. It seems you doctor does not care. Sometimes a second opionion is good.

This was my only symptom before being diagnosed with Crohn's. I would occasionally vomit with bowel movement. They found a stricture in sigmoid colon and have read that vomitting can occur with obstruction. Was initally put on Prednisone for three months and still have stricture but have not vomitted in the last two years. If your stool is narrower in diameter, this could be another sign of blockage?

Was on prednisone for three months but no medication for next 11 months.
 Started weekly methotrexate injections 09/22/08.

I started doing this about 7 years ago (dx almost 20 years ago). GI knows about it, but there isn't much he can do about it. It's soooooo unpleasant. I just take a plastic grocery bag with me every time I go in case I have to vomit. Get a new doc if yours won't listen.

Yes, I've definitely had vomiting while going to the bathroom.

I've told my GI about it...he seems baffled by the vomiting. Never mentioned stricture or blockage because I'm not having a hard time going to the bathroom. It's just that the BM sometimes makes me vomit so I'm vomiting and pooping at the same time. My GI has asked me if I'm having a hard time swallowing in relation to the vomiting but I haven't been having trouble with that.

I can never tell when I'm going to vomit, either, until I actually start the pooping process. It's the type of BM I'm having that causes the vomiting, in my opinion. Sometimes it's this long drawn out, sick-feeling BM that feels like it's all attached to my stomach...then I either throw up what I've recently eaten or I dry heave. It's awful, particularly not knowing when it's going to happen. Sometimes I wonder if it's not the SMELL that causes the nausea. Once the vomiting spell is over, I feel FINE, sometimes GREAT. Often times, I get hungry afterwards!

I, too, carry a plastic bag with me...large ziploc to be exact.

I had it happen too when I was very sick before being diagnosed.
Hoping to stay in remission after the birth of a healthy baby girl. On Pentasa during my pregnancy, went med-free 2 months to nurse (stupid), but back on Pentasa and still nursing.
