It seems as if everyday I have something that aches. Just so happens today it is my neck and back. But I also have Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Right now those two give me more problems than the CD does.

Posted 1/28/2009 8:12 AM (GMT -7) lower back is aching today. I usually just let it be. I hate taking meds unless it is OFF THE CHARTS hurting me.

But I'm having a 2nd period for the month (my periods get out of whack when I've been feeling bad) so my lower back aching MIGHT be from that.

BUT my bowels have been weird lately, too, so when I'm having a "spell" (better than a flare) my Crohn's Arthritis kicks in which usually swells my ankles a little (or a lot) and inflames my lower back. My ankles are slightly swollen, so maybe the lower back pain is from inflammation. Peripheral Arthritis associated with Crohn's, I think it's called?

OR MAYBE since I haven't felt all that great lately and have been sitting at work all day, getting tired, then going home and immediately laying in bed for the rest of the day and night, MAYBE my lower back hurts from just doing NOTHING!

So annoying...hope YOUR back gets to feeling better VERY soon.

Previous/occasional Rx's: 20mg Prednisone taper, Flagyl, Levaquin

Try sitting on a heat pad.  That seems to work for me.  Or a hot bath.

Hope you get some relief.

Carmen - I had a backache every day for 9-10 years. It was so bad I could not sit down to watch TV or go out and see a movie. Finally was sent to a rheumatologist about something else. After his very thorough physical and lots of testing I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. about 20% of us with Crohn's develop Spondyloarthropathy with about 5% of those developing AS.

I'm still having body aches since coming off the Pred. a month ago.I wake up and feel like I'm 80. I have noticed that if I use the treadmill (force myself) I feel much better through out the day and it gives me more energy too.

My back has been hurting me ever since I got off the pred about 3-4 weeks ago. It is my lower spine, down by my pelvis.

I am with Wolfie--getting on the treadmill and moving around has helped it a lot. I have also tried the heating pad which works. I try to save the Tylenol for when I absolutely need it.
