So I had a colonoscopy today and I wanted to share my story because it was really unlike any I have had in the past... They gave me Demerol & Versed, and I was all set to pass out when suddenly -- I didn't! But I was in a fine mood. I was awake for the entire thing, but had no pain (actually I think I had a twinge for a moment, but they gave me a little more med and I was fine). When I realized I wasn't going to fall asleep. I asked for my glasses and I watched it on the monitor. They gave me 14 pictures of it after I was through. And I remember the whole thing and am not bothered by it in the least... very strange... anyone else have a story like this?

I remember parts of most of my colonoscopies, and I had one where I requested light sedation so I could watch the whole thing. It's pretty interesting to watch especially when they are finished and pull the scope out. You are watching your intestines and then suddenly, you see someone's shoes.

I was out for mine, but thought the idea of giving me glossy 8X10 pictures was funny. Suitable for framing. They make great gifts! Make them in to Christmas cards!

Ugh! I'm so jealous they gave you pictures! In order to get pictures of mine, I was going to have to jump through hoops to get the hospital to release them.

smilewinkgrin Glad you enjoyed the whole thing !
They only give injections to get you high here, no putting to sleep, so I have seen all my colonoscopies...Didnť hurt, just ocasionally felt a little twinge or like it was gas inside.
The worst part of the whole thing is having to drink Fortrans, start vomiting it after the first two litres cry
Diagnosed with Crohn´s 4 yrs ago, 3 surgeries, currently 37 weeks pregnant with second child. Pentasa 2x2, Budenoflak 1x2, 30 yrs old
