I made a resolution to try to post good things along with the bad... and today I actually have good news to report!

I think (knocking on all wood in a 2 mile radius) that the Cimzia is working! My bowel movements have become less frequent and more formed, and that alone is worth a million bucks! I discovered today that my remaining symptoms fall under the heading of "rebound constipation" (severe gas pain, bloating, and rock hard distended tummy), but I can live with that! Part of that also may be the introduction of a fiber supplement, so I truly believe that even THIS round of symptoms has an expiration date. And I'm successfully weaned down to only 2.5mg of the Evil Prednisone. YAY!

If only I could get myself to stop STARING at my vitamins and supplements and start taking them like a "good girl". Like I read somewhere else -

"I have pill fatigue!". Suck it up though, right?

After a long, dark year and a half - I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! (insert crude joke about bowels/tunnels here)

I've been on Cimzia since July (except for brief lapse right now fromPG treatment). I am due to have it Thursday, and I think I've finally found a combination that works for me. My GI and I have worked together and done trial and error (with journal help). I get the Cimzia every 4 weeks and take Methotrexate 6 pills one day a week. The final component is a proton pump inhibitor Omeprazole. It helps keep the extra stomach acid from being produced and flooding the bowel causing d. For the first time in 10 tears I am actually having formed stool! I never thought I'd grow up to be excited by a terd!(ha,ha)!! I hope you continue to due well. Thanks for your support on PG thread!!

Hi Glad to hear that you are finally feeling better and posting your good results made all the more special after a tiring trial of getting there ,hoping you have continued good health ...I just got in from a 2 km walk not possible a few years ago and my stools are pretty good now so I know the feeling of better quality of life then sitting near the tolet for years on end... I think the walking helps move the bowels better as well I drank a half can of pears I had whipped up and certainly gaives a good cleaning out and was surprised it remained fairly solid threw it all... I avoid fruit except banana's so I thought that might be a way to at least get the odd can in me... happy for you.... lol gail
