I know that sometimes it is just genetic..there are several products you can use for your skin to lighten them, but I know they're really expensive...I don't know how people afford some skincare products!
I'll try and find a few things I have tried later that work, but I am being shoved off of the computer at the moment hah.

Daisy, I see we're about the same age (I'm 26/f). I know exactly how you feel.

I, too, have dark circles under my eyes that worsen if I'm having a flareup and/or am in severe pain. The only time I don't have 'em is when neither the Crohn's or any of my other medical problems are affecting me. I got so fed up with people asking me "Do you feel okay?", I started wearing makeup everyday to work. They make pretty good concealers nowdays that don't feel too heavy on your skin, and a little dab under my eyes does wonders.

It certainly isn't a permanent solution, but it's quick and cheap (I pay about $7 for a bottle that will last several months).

Concealer is a really good idea. I use it everyday and then brush it over with powder so it lasts longer and looks natural. Seems to make a big difference. I'll be looking into the actual products that go into your skin though so...

I know someone who had them, and he gave up dairy and they went away. Dunno if that helps!

Those are the two products I have been considering if I ever get the money. I know at least trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour(if that's possible with our erratic sleeping patterns) and eating well if you can help it tend to help with the under eye problems. I know there are certain foods that are good for it too but I can't remember which ones..

I all for Clinique all "about eyes" concealer and then a round of bare minerals "well rested". I have really dark circles under my eyes. Part genetics and part health and life. Remember, they are not as bad as you think as you are always your biggest critic.

I read one time that the circles were a lack of hemoglobin and it mostly genetic. Pretty sure the same article stated to try to eat food rich in hemoglobin.. or try an iron supplement.

Daisy,

Most autoimmune suffers have these. For me they get better sometimes, but never go away. Good luck girl, I can't even remember having them when I was your age, but do know many people mentioned this to me so they were noticeable. Sometimes I think I would do better without people inquiring about my well being. Other times I wonder why nobody notices when I am sick.

One of the most common causes of under eye dark circles is genetics. If this is the culprit then the best treatment is the combination of a healthy lifestyle and using a good eye creams that targets under eye dark circles. The same treatment works best when the cause is aging. Over time, the skin in the eye becomes thinner resulting to the dark circles along with other signs of skin aging.

Allergies, age, genetics, hormone, imbalance, and malnourishment can all cause the dark circles. I got them when I was in a flare for a long period of time. When you are flaring you probably aren't absorbing all of the nutrients you need. Also if you are dehydrated, sometimes even though we are drinking plenty of fluid and our urine is clear we are still dehydrated, squeeze half a lemon into your water and a dash of salt, it might help.

I have dark circles (always have, even before I got sick - I think it's genetic) and have tried so many concealers.  I now use Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer, which is about $6 at Walmart, and it works great.  I set it with MAC Studio Tech since I can't use powder due to dry skin and my age.

I tried the Clinique dark circle corrector cream, and it did nothing at all...just throwing my money away. I do use Clinique's line smoothing concealer which is a cover up cream that I like a lot. I also use Clinique's eye cream underneath it (all about eyes rich). I haven't tried other products. I have dark circles even when I'm not anemic or flaring, but they do seem to get even worse when I am sick.

Hi Dark circles under the eyes and being tired is also a symptom of being dehydrated make sure you are drinking enough fluids and make up an electrolyte mixture and sip throughout the day x
