Hey there!  I'm new to these boards... after struggling with very severe Crohn's for two years, my GI has decided it's time to try Remicade (since I had surgery not too long ago, and already they've found a fistula.  Goody.).
Is there anything I should know, beyond what's in the typical info sheets?

I've been on most entry-level meds out there: prednisone, AZA, pentasa, ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, etc etc etc... starting Remicade soon, after discovering an enteroenteric fistula.

plan on spending the whole day at the hospital and/or doing something mellow. I always got tired after the infusion, and the infusion takes a while, so bring a book or something. aside from that, i never had any problems with it. i hope it puts you into remission and keeps you there :D

Ive been on Remicade for 8 months now and so far so good. I had no reaction to it at all but it does tend to wear off early once you get to the 8 week interval. I don't know if thats the case for everyone but it does with me and Ive heard many others say the same. I hope it helps you feel better. Tony

I was super stressed the first time i got remicade so i asked for something to calm me down :)

Because panic attack and the side affects can be similar. And I did not want to have to stop the infusion due to a panic attack :P
So I got some Xanax and I did not feel a thing actually fell a sleep during the infusion.

Good luck hope Remicade works for you.

I have been on remcade for 4 1/2 years. It has given me my life back. Be sure to get the necessary tests (tb, chest xray, urine histoplasmosis, labs) before you start. I don't have an side effects or problems with the cade. Good luck!
