So I received my first Remicade infusion on Friday morning... I was pretty nervous, but everything ended up working out fine; and by fine I mean no infusion reactions :) At my doctor's office they don't give any "prep meds", they wait until a reaction occurs and then treat it accordingly.
The nurse was great... explained everything to me while getting things ready, was in the room the whole time for almost the first hour and was there with me practically all rest of the time. My appt was at 9:00, infusion started at 9:15 and I was out of there just after 11:30.
The only thing I wonder about is that after I left I was feeling a bit nauseated... I'm normally a constipated kind of girl, but halfway home I HAD TO GO! That happened basically all day; and all weekend I've been really gassy... a lot more so than usual. Has anyone noticed this?
Just wanted to share my experience... thanks to everyone who has answered my questions/tried to alleviate my fears about it the last couple of months! I'll be back for my second one in a couple of weeks.

Ive been on Remicade for 8 months now and I seem to have no reaction at all. It has all but eliminated my arthritis which is like a gift from God and has tamed down my flare considerably. Everyone is so different with their reactions to meds so I guess its possible that you had a mild reaction but I wouldnt worry about it....really. It could be just because you were so nervous. The hospital always calls the next day or so to follow-up and make sure Im not having a reaction and if I were you I'd mention it. Until then, think how much better your going to feel when it starts working. Ive had 6 infusions so far and Im always alittle nervous still when I go in but I'm a coward when it comes to Drs and hospitals anyway. Best wishes, Tony

I also had my first Remicade on Friday morning at 9AM, Kriss and I are on the same schedule and my 2nd will be in 12 days. I had no reactions during the infusion, I joked that I thought they were giving me plain water in the bag. Friday evening the back of my hands and knuckles were itchy and my scalp was a bit itchy but that's been it. No other changes YET. Better days ARE coming.

I felt flu-ish for about two days after each infusion.

So farmacist, we're on the same schedule.. I get my next one on the 9th, so we'll have to compare notes!
