Question for the Cimzia people out there...  Do you know the name of the nursing company who sends someone do to your shots?  My person just no-showed.  It's not the first time I've had problems with this arrangement and I plan to call tomorrow (the "Cimplicity" program) and complain about the way it's all handled.  They call it Cimplicity but if I didn't harrass people (ship the meds, sit home all day to sign for it, call the nurse, etc, etc.) I'd never get treated.  Even when I spend an hour calling and arranging and waiting at home for delivery, I still don't get treatment!

Sorry, just irritated now.  If I could schedule a doc appt and have the med delivered there it really would be simple!

Anyway, I'm wondering if the Cimzia people always use the same home healthcare nursing staff company.

Thanks!

I don't know if they use the same ones everywhere, here in Connecticut it was Interim Health that contacted my daughter.  Although the first injection is to be in the dr office in case of any ill affects.

I haven't actually started on Cimzia yet, but my doc just said he would order it and I would come in to get the injection. I've had home healthcare before, and it's a pain, so I'm sure you are frustrated. Maybe look into the possibilty of having another doctor order it, if yours won't.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I might call the doctor first to see if he'd be willing to have me get the shots there with his nurse. I'd so much rather just hang out there for an hour (shot prep time) than I would wonder when/if the home nurse will show. Remicade never bugged me having to go into the office for extended time each treatment. This sitting at home and wondering and waiting is not ok for me!

Thanks again!

I am on Cizmia free and they pay for my nurse also. If I had a problem I would call Cimplicity, but I also have the number of the nurses who come out.

I had to order mine from my mail order pharmacy and have it sent to the hospital chemo department nearby me. Then on the set day I would show up at the chemo department at the hospital and have it injected there. seems to be a good system, but they take their sweet a@! time which kinda irrates me.

I called Cimplicity and they were very responsive. I have a new nurse coming tomorrow morning. She seemed very pleasant. Thanks again! I guess I am responding to Cimzia... I am not close to remission, but I'll take whatever help I can get!! Cimzia, budesonide (compounded) suppositories, Cipro are my current Crohn's meds. I quit Flagyl after 2 weeks yesterday. I was so fatigued I could hardly move.

New nurse came *right* on time and was excellent to be with. Shots didn't hurt even a bit. I guess, in hindsight, I am glad I had a no-show. Now I am thrilled with my (replacement) nurse! It's great to have happy moments like this... Thanks again to all for the input!
