Hello everyone,
tomorrow i am leaving for vacation which means two days in a car and i was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good snacks to pack. Its already a long trip so we want to stop as little as possible and most of the stops will be at fast food...which i cant eat, so i need to pack my own snacks. thank you.

I'd go with fresh fruit, bananas, apples, whatever you can tolerate (I can eat them all thank goodness), maybe some home-made granola bars then you know what's in them...I don't eat anything processed but I know most do, so the healthiest snacks you can think of, maybe low salt crackers (whole wheat is healthiest), make your own trail mix with whatever nuts and dried fruits you can tolerate.

Have fun :)

Whatever you know won't make you poop! I like the yogurt based balance bars, pretzels, bagels, banannas, cup of soups (you can just fill w/ hot water from the tea spout at gas stations, etc) ... there is generally SOMETHING I can eat, even at fast food places. I just got to look hard enough. I feel your pain b/c my husband and I drove from Maine to Georgia several times. At wendys you can get a baked potato and a piece of grilled chicken (essentially just "hold the sandwich." McDonalds has good yogurt parfaits. What about Subway or Quiznos? If you are in the South Chic Filet always goes down nice for me. Good luck!
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night.  I take xanax prn for situational anxiety (aka no easy bathroom access).
