My son is 11 and was on Imuran but it was not getting his symptoms under control.  We have since moved on to his first Remicaid infusion.
Does anyone out there have a child of similiar age that has taken Remicaid?  My son didn't seem to have any "major" side effects from the first infusion; however, I wonder how others have done with this med long term.
Thank you!

There are people on this board who have had this issue, but I also encourage you to check out dragonpack for parents. Because we do not have 11 year old members.

I'm not your son's age, but I have been on remicade for 4 1/2 yrs. I have done awesome on it! It has given me my life back. I have no side effects, and I am the healthiest (colds/flus) in my family. Hopefully it will bring him into remission.

My son was 13 when he went on Remicade and has been on it for about one year now with no problems.  I can tell you that there are plenty of people your son's age or younger on Remicade.  The dragonpack website is a terrific resource for parents of kids with IBD.  The address is
Where in New York are you located?  I'm in upstate near Rochester.
Please ask if you have any additional questions about Remicade or general questions about having a child with IBD.  My son was 11 when he was diagnosed.
Take care,
