How long (as in number of hours/days) does it take you to start feeling better from the flu like symptoms from the injection.  I normally start feeling better after about 12 hours.  I take my weekly shot on Sat. night at about 6pm and by Sun. morning I'm feeling better.  Sunday however, is still a slow day for me and Monday's a little better.  Tuesday I'm off and running again.

I'm getting flu like symptoms (I just posted this issue as well)...I was so focused on my joint pain but I was getting enormous muscle aches as symptoms are lasting over a week...I finally started to feel great on friday, had my next shot on monday and today I feel like crap again...I'm hoping that now that I'm down to 1 dose, the side effects will lessen...I hope you feel better soon!

Hi broomhilda,

I had flu-like symptoms from Methotrexate - bad enough that I stopped taking it. Nothing like that with Humira for me. Maybe you should try a different med, if you haven't yet?

Good luck!
Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in Jan 2007, though sick since mid 90’s. Currently on Humira and Protonix. Have had success with Entocort and Cipro; negative experience with Methotrexate.

I take my shot on Friday nights anywhere between 7 & 9 PM.  I can feel it "kick in" after a couple of hours.  It makes me very tired and will last through part of Sunday.  By Monday I'm ready for work.

I have never had any problems with any kind of flu-like symptoms with my Humira. I can feel wearing off though. I know when I need another shot because my joints really start hurting. I usually feel relief about 3 hours after my injections.
Currently taking Humira since September 2008 after building antibodies up against the Remicade I had been taking for over a year.

Other meds: Wellbutrin, BCP, cranberry pills, multivitamin, biotin (for hair loss), acid reducing pill (OTC), allergy pill (OTC)
