Hi everyone,

I just started with a new dr, and she is concerned about the darvocet I'm taking for my crohn's related arthritis. She made a comment about the cd being under control so why am I in pain. I have chronic pain daily regardless of my cd flares. Is that unusual?

What do you take for your pain? She talked about switching me to morphine to protect my liver due to the tylenol in the darvocet.

Thanks for your help!

My Crohns is currently in remission, but my joint pain is a daily problem for me. I take Percoset on a daily basis myself.

Kinda ticks me off that your doc would say that. Because we can also suffer with Fibromyalgia (which I do), Osteoarthritis and other arthritis'. Maybe you should ask for a referral to a Rheumatologist. Gentle hugs and good luck!

I was told the year before I was diagnosed with Crohns that I would have full blown arthritis in my lifetime. My doc said he could tell by my joints and where my pain was. He couldn't tell me what type of arthritis though. That being said, after my diagnoses it is a given with my doctor that arthritis is a part of my daily life. My knees, hands and sometimes elbows are effected. I actually consider myself lucky it is not worse considering my family history.

My Crohn's is supposedly in remission but my arthritis is in a big flare.  I normally take Ultracet, which also has acetaminophen in it.  But, when it doesn't help, we've tried Darvocet (which did nothing) and Hydocodone.  She doesn't like me staying on those long, though.  I've been on Ultracet for years.

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)

I've always had pain in some form, and I think it got a bit worse after each time I took prednisone. It seems to always affect my back and feet/legs which means I don't walk so well without painkillers. It doesn't help that I also have plantar fasciitis in one of my feet. Sometimes it hits other places like my fingers but not as often. It never seems to matter what my cd is doing. She's referring me to a gastro to handle my cd so I'll ask him about it. Maybe she thinks I'm addicted to the darvocet. When my old doc initially prescribed it he told me to take all 4 doses so that I'm always on top of the pain. Now the new doc cut me back to 3 doses, which I don't really mind because I don't always need that 4th one. I just don't get why one seems unconcerned and the other one overly concerned. How do I know who is right?
