Has anyone else had the problem of heat intolerance with Crohns? When I started getting sick 3 yrs ago, every year with heat got worse? Last yr I passed out twice at 2 public places, but it seems like if I dont stay in the heat long im ok, so I usually stick to the air conditioner. Is this possible to be connection with Crohns? for anyone else? THANKS

I work outside at a rail yard and while the heat isn't pleasant, I don't really see any problems as long as I stay hydrated. I probably drink at least 8 ounces of water every half hour while I'm at work in the summer.

My scientist mother told me, years ago, that steroid use messes with our internal heat regulation, so we feel the heat a lot more than average people. I know that I certainly do.

Do you happen to have low blood pressure? Having low blood pressure can cause "heat intolerance" by passing out. I have low blood pressure and my doctor warns me about being out in the heat and I have passed out a couple of times in the heat as well.
Crohns almost 17 years. No surgeries. Currently taking Imuran and Entocort. Also take multivitamin/mineral supplement, omega -3 oil, calcium and vitamin D. Eat lots of yogurt. Limit wheat and gluten as much as I can.

Ivy...this makes complete sense to me!  I have been  getting less and less tolorant over the last 6 years or so, however the last two have been horrible....I have been on endocort for that time.
It was up in the 80's here for a few days last week and I am telling you all I am NOT looking forward to July and Aug. at all.
