Oh no! How upsetting and scary that must be. I'm really sorry, Bev.

I was interested to hear you say that you'll be getting your Rem by injections. Is that Humira / Cimzia, or actual Rem that they'll be injecting?

All the best, keep smiling,

Sorry to hear that. How closely are you monitored while getting the infusions? Is it a good idea to have a friend or relative with you to keep an eye on you?

Hi Ivy,im noy quite sure the GI nurse said it wasn't the end of the world and that people with crohns have two options where as people with colitis have only one she has brought my appointment nearer to see crohns doc so i will find out and let you know i am only on the remi to try and clear up this fistula but when i read up on humira it doesn't say anything about closing up fistula's i don't really want to go on humira just to keep the crohns at bay i would rather try be on something else. thanks for replying i will keep you posted xx

H orngi, i was moinitored quite closely the nurses was doing my obs every 15 mins it was while she was doing my blood pressure that it came on, the specialist nurse is there at all times incase of things like this happen they were really swift in getting me sorted and within the hour i was back to normal had to stay for another two hours just to be on the safe side but all is ok now thank goodness thanks for replying speak soon xx

That sounds similar to my reaction during my third infusion. I couldn't breathe and got all hot and flush and light-headed. It really sucks because it was working but now I cannot take it and Humira didn't work.

My reactions came very fast. I had been pre-medicated with solumedrol and benadryl. When I reacted, the nusres slammed another 25 mg of benadryl in the IV and the reaction stopped within a minute. Make sure they have benadryl handy! My docs say a few people can have one reaction and never have another, which is why they often try again Unfortunately, most that have a reaction really are allegic and will have another -- no more Remi. I'm allergic to Humira too.

After several years of Remi I too had the same reaction. Humira isn't looking too promising either.
