So I swallowed the camera on Monday.....I always new I had a fast system but its seems I had the fastest test that the staff could remember.
I swallowed the camera at 9:00 and went about my day.......at 12:30 after about 15 min of the "tickle", I stopped by the bathroom and "got rid" of the camera.
3.5 hours.....anyone else that fast???

Wow! That is pretty fast. Are you very thin? Do you think you absorb alot of nutrients? I'm just curious because sometime my system is the same way. Like I'll eat something and then see it come out almost the same color and all a few hours later.  I wonder if I even absorbed any calories from it. I'm pretty thin too, that's why I ask. Did the doctor say anything about that?

Thanks for sharing your experience smilewinkgrin

I've had the camera test a few times, but I have no idea how fast it's gone through me. I do know that I can eat something and have it go through me in an hour or so. Something like lettuce. Not all the time, but things that don't agree with me can go really fast.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

What --- is this a new event in the Crohnie Olympics??  The event begins with the contestants eating.  But the "end" of the contest is something I'd not want televised.  rolleyes rolleyes

Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.

Haven't done a pill camera, but remember at my sickest before they knew what was wrong with me for a SBFT it literally went in one end and out the other. "impossible' said the Radiographer with his posh English accent, then, "oh dear, we better get you back in quickly.".

I love the idea of Crohnie Olympics--but you're right that they definitely don't belong on television! Several years ago, I wrote a septet of poems entirely about the experience of having Crohn's. One of them was about seeing your food reappear, virtually unchanged, after you'd eaten it. There are foods I have an aversion to now, just because I can't deal with seeing them again later.

Lizard99....I am pretty thin (30' waist) and sometimes my food, especially greens (lettuce, spinach, etc...) comes out fast and undigested??????  Didn't see the doctor yet so I don't know if he will say anything else about it.
I hope the images aren't blury.....they may look like pictures taken from a race car speeding around a track!!  Ha!!

I was diagnosed with "rapid transit time" in addition to the Crohn's when the camera pill came out in 5 hours and 52 minutes. The nurse told me I was the second fastest they had ever seen. They had a lady that passed it in 1 hr 32 minutes.

After a couple years of treatment with Remicade, my guts are now in remission. My GI said I am "over healed" because he had to prescribe Miralax because my BMs were only happening once a week or so. From 20 times a day to once a week -I was not ready for that.

I had the Cam Pill done last Friday and it took the entire 8 hours till it stopped blinking. I am sure I passed it but I never saw it. When I had to have the upper barium series done and swallow the nasty barium I swear to God, I sat there for a solid 8 hours and the barium never moved, They made me drink more barium and took more and more X rays. Around noon time, they sent me out for a "light" lunch. I had hot coffee and a hamberger, plain no bun and nothing on it. I went back and drank more barium, had more X rays and finally when they were about to close, they sent me home with orders to return at 9:00am the next morning. When I woke the following morning, I could see that the barium had traveled through my system because it was in the toilet. Talk about setting a record; I set one for that test. My GI said that was another sign that I had Crohn's.

wow...that is quick! i feel like you guys...sometimes I can't even finish my meal before its returning to the outside world...its a very love hate relationship we have, me and food, i love food, but it sure hates to stay in my body.

That being said...I thought for sure that my pillcam study would be done lickity split! not the case it got stuck about 5.5 hours in and took 2.5 hours of the same spot...don't know what that means....It took 10 days for it to come out...basically it didn't come out until i had some more solid substance to push it along they think...who knows

It also followed a pill for about 30 minutes...they told me to take my morning meds and the pill didn't resemble anything that i had taken...so weird
