Well the VA said it was going to refer me to an IBD specialist.  I asked for the Mayo clinic in Rochester.  They refer me to the quack GI down the road who missed my mother's stage four ovarian cancer.

And they can't understand why you would be hesitant, to put it mildly, to go to this GI?

I'm in the middle of trying to find a new GI. It's unnerving to feel like you're the one more on top of things than the doc.

OH NO!!! Can you go back to them and request another doctor due to prior bad experiences with this doc? I am so sorry that you have to add this to your list of worries. I hope you are able to get another doc.

Big Hugs

Grrrrr. Oh, Navy. You're not in the Forces anymore; they can't *order* you to go there, can they?

ditto everyone else. Call your primary back and say that you would prefer another specialist and tell them in no uncertain terms why.

Randy, I am so glad to see you is your GI in the VA network?

I am requesting another specialist. No, they cannot force me to go to this guy.

Navy,

Are you talking Mayo in Rochester? Like in MN.  They have an awesome GI clinic and you would only be 40 mins from me.  :) You hold out for the best.  This is your life and you need someone that has a good reputation and knows the latest in procedures and treatments.

You go girl.

Kitt
