Hi Norma, I have not had any joint pain besides the normal things that come with getting old, you know the popping and cracking when you get up out of bed in the morning or the snapping sounds when you stand up really fast from sitting in one place too long. LOL!! Other than that, no joint pains, can you describe the pains a little more? Joint pains as if you had the Flu? or? Maybe Rheumatory arthritis? It is one of the underlying diseases that is tied to PG. Below is a website that shows that Rheumatory arthritis is connected to PG, and you can click on the blue link in the middle of the page that says Rheumatoid disease and it will tell you more information and symptoms. To Anyone else, this link below has been one of the best sites that I have found about
PG it has great information on it.
*HUGS* OriginalAreU!!! I dread the medication side effects...my goodness you are allergic? What was the allergic reaction like for you? That would be horrible, No wonder its taken so long for you to heal, my gosh!!! You also get horrible sores in your mouth too? I noticed that on your signature. Wow :( I just wanna hug you lady!
HI MISSCAMPER!!! haha I just got done emailing you!!! I guess I should have came here first to see if there was any updates on you. So sorry to hear about
the other red spots :( I still have you in my prayers! Funny both of us were at doctors visit today trying to get some results!!!
Well here is how my visits went today folks, I actually had 2 appointments...One with my dermatologist and one with my wound clinic. Lets start with the dermatologist first.
My culture that was done last week at the wound clinic for my MRSA = NEGITIVE!! YAY so Im now able to actually start treatment on getting these nasty wounds closed. I have a script
for Cyclosporin 500mg per day....OUCH! This sounds scarey, but ya know it is what it is, and Im just ready to get rid of these wounds! Im pretty burned out on the pain, they have been
opened and growing for almost a year now, it will be a year next month. (yes a year to find out what the heck was going on and to finally get on some kind of treatment) However, I can not start the medication until blood work is done and that will be on Thursday with my family doctor. They have concern about
my liver count on the last blood work that was done, and I think I had mentioned that in a previous post, so they are going to test me for Hepatitis B and C. Because these are one of the underlying diseases that seem to travel with PG, and because of my liver counts on the last test results. I havent had a chance to read up on these but I do know Hepatitis C is contracted from Needles, Sex, even getting tattoos, and Im not sure how many other ways, I will have to study up on it. However, I know that we can scratch off the Needles and the Sex part if I come up positive for Hepatitis C, because I have never done drugs in my life, and I know who my sexual partners have been and I know for sure that is impossible. Hepatitis B, I have no idea about
...so I guess I will be going on a lil journey after this post to find out more about
Also I have noticed a blister or bite of some kind on the bottom of my right foot, its itchy and kinda hurts too and of course anything like this just popping up Im going to be deeply concerned about
. I showed my Dermatologist this and she says it could be from my wrapping since it goes all the way to my toes. It may have gotten damp in there some how and caused some kind of irritation. This better not turn into a nasty wound :( I really dont want to even think about
having this on the bottom of my foot. So, if you believe in prayer..please say one for me.
After my Dermatologist appointment I went straight to the wound clinic, I prayed that my wounds would not have grown this week, I just am getting so burned out on every week when they remove the wrappings and measure all my wounds are bigger, it just gets so discouraging, and I think Im due for some good news! So off came the wrappings, and GUESS WHAT? MY WOUNDS ACTUALLY GOT SMALLER THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no treatment, it must of been God helping me out this week :) The only thing I was taking was antibiotics that I have been on for weeks. They didnt get alot smaller, but they did shrink some and this my friends made my day!!!! Its about TIME!!! Thank you Jesus!
However, they were getting my left leg prepared for this weeks wrapping, they always load my legs down with this cream to prevent them from itching so much when wrapped. My girl at the wound clinic was carefully applying the cream then :( OUCH!!! WHAT WAS THAT?! WHAT IS THAT? OH GOD NO :( Not far from the largest wound I have a very tender spot, theres seems to be another wound coming up. This made me so so so sad! WHY?! HOW?! it looks like the wrapping itself may have started this little wound, its not a full wound yet and we are praying and hoping it wont turn into one, its almost the size of a dime, and its very sore. Feels just like how my other wounds felt at the beginning. So we are keeping eyes on this. Regardless, I got great news today. Even though its again 3:30am and Im in pain because I always am after a wound clinic appointment, the good news is that my wounds that I have had for almost 1 yr actually shrank this week instead of growing larger.
Thursday is my appointment to get my blood work and to see my family doctor. Once the blood work comes in and its all good, I will then start my Cyclosporin. Lets hope everything comes back good! My gosh you guys you must hate my posts :( they are so long, I will try my best to start keeping them short!!! I PROMISE! Most of you must be sleeping by the time you are done reading my posts!!!!
One more question for EVERYONE before I say goodbye this time. How many of you get scrapped on your wounds? I really am curious? I have seen some mention the scrapings but not many, and I can tell everytime my wound clinic takes off my wrapping, the Nurse Practitioner is just chewing at the bits to scrap my wounds!!! I really need to know how common this is for people with PG...This is what I have noticed, honestly scraping my wounds make them so much worse :( How about you? If you have been scrapped, how many times? Please let me know about this Im so curious! Because my wound clinic wants to do it every single week!!! :(
As far as you my friends...I think of you all everyday and hope and pray that you have awesome days, and that you get some progression happening with your PG!!!
God Bless You All!!
