Hi all!

I don't post much....usually just lurk. Love to read the posts and compare notes.

I wasn't having much luck with the Probiotic Align, which came highly recommended by my GI doctor. My body was never able to fully adjust to it and it made me so embarrassingly gassy it was ridiculous (and mortifying since I spend 8 hours a day in an office full of people). I switched over to something called Digestive Advantage Crohn's and Colitis Therapy and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! No gas and a definite decrease in "intestinal episodes". Not sure if any of you use it, but just wanted to put it out there that I've had really great luck.

That's all I wanted to say. wink

I take two probiotics and one of them is the Digestive Advantage Lactose Intolerance and it too works well for me.

I have a friend that uses align and he loves the stuff. I can even tell he is gaining some weight.

Where can you buy that?  Does it cost the same as the Align?

There's a list of stores here: where to buy

They say it costs about 35 cents a day - but I haven't bought any myself yet.

I see the Crohns and Lactose ones share the same probiotic, but the Crohns one has another probiotic on top of that. However, the one for Crohns is about twice as much ($15 vs $7) I'd like to get on a probiotic so would the lactose one be worth trying or should I stop being cheap and just try the Crohns one?

IMO, I would try the cheap one first and see if it works for you.

I tried the DAC's&CT also, and I had quite a bit of gas with it, so bad that I was having to take extra-strength Gas-X 3x/day.  Husband saw Align and suggested it, but I didn't want to spend the $30 so we bought the $12 bottle of Philips' Colon Health on the shelf next to it and that worked well for me (for half of a 24hr period) so I began taking a capsule every 12hrs....which means the cost per month is now $24.

Pretty darn close to the Align.  rolleyes

The thing is...everyone is different, the products also have slight differences in them...so you have to find what products works best for your particular situation.  Try the cheaper ones, first.  If you don't have good results, then work your way up through the more expensive products until you find the ones that work best for *you*.

you got it..but yeah align is a totally different strain than any other probiotics...different strains work different ways for different people. Give them all a try and give them plenty of time to show results.
