My daily routine does not consist of many pills anymore. The miniature arsenal that stands ready in my cabinet is "left over" from various rounds of this, and hospitalizations for that... I have to google many bottles before I even remember what they're for.

But on days like today... the really bad days... I'm tempted to just open the cabinet and "go shopping". This is all the crap that "they" want me to be on anyway, right? Muscle relaxers, antispasmodics, antidepressants, anti-nausea... all the things that make me completely disfunctional in a different way...

Does anyone else go through this? Hating the pills, but wanting the pills? Wishing that of all the 40000+ pills you had, there was just ONE FREAKING PILL that actually helped?

Even if it was only for 6 hours of peace, I would be grateful. Eeeeeeny, meeeeny, miney, mo.

I have several different kinds of pain killers left over, and yes, I am tempted sometimes...but I remind myself to keep them for when things are just absolutely unbearable.

I really would like 'one freaking pill' to take...

I have so many pills right now and I just take what my doc tells me to take. But the painkillers I have a love hate relationship with and anti anxiety pills.
I never take them but sometimes I cant live with out them..

I too have alot of pills, and use quite a few all the time. But the the ones I find I use the most is the nausea meds. It always seem I feel somewhat nauseous, so morning, noon & night I use them. I'd personally would rather not suffer. JMHO

For me the one magic pill is Prednisone. It works miracles for me. Therefore I hoard it. At this point I need to act my doctor for a new script but I am not taking it-I just want some to keep as an emergency supply. I called her the last time I put myself on it so she does know that I have used up my supply but I am unsure if she will give me a just in case prescription.

Sjkly-- one word: Mexico.  Whether you walk 200 yards past the border crossing where the first pharmacy usually sits, or order online, Mexican pharmacies have prednisone 100% OTC.  I hate pred but for flares - be it mini or maxi- I also love it compared to bleeding in agony and I am not about to play the child-parent game with my doc begging for drugs that I can get OTC.
Pancolitis >20 years, allergic to all 5ASAs
(To pharma: enough already with the umpteen variants of Asacol!)
Tried everything under the sun (natural and alternative)
Some partial success with TSO but was too expensive to keep up
Remicade Humira, lots of probiotics, entocort, tapering increasing pred again,
maybe surgery this year soon
