I got scoped yesterday by my summertime G.I. My problems were really loose stools and bad bleeding upon ocassion.....once this spring I dropped 2 hgb points overnight. Also, I have two strictures, one above and a worse one below the J-pouch of about 9 MM. Before I went nighty night I reminded him to please dialate both as he looked for ulcers that may have caused the bleeding. Although it was a double ender procedure, the topside was normal. After I woke up (sort of) he said he dialated both strictures out to 18 MM, and believed he found the bleeding problem. It was a staple to hold something together apparently from my last surgery in 2005 when they had to operate to remove a trapped capsule endoscopy. He said the staple was surrounded by an ulcer and covered by a blood clot.
How cool is that?

BTW, I wonder how he got it out with a Colonoscope.

Dave it's great when a mystery is solved! I hope you feel hundred times better now. I always wondered about the "vlips" they left in from my first surgery in 1990.....hmmmm thanks to you I am going to ask more about them on my next visit.
Dx'd '90 (emergency rupture), symptoms ignored long before that, '03 fistulas and bad flagyl reactions, B12 weekly, Pentasa [until I surrender to the bigger meds]
I'm riding on the escalator of life....
