So, I might be jaded, but I reached my breaking point today.

The Cimzia isn't working.

6 months of torture and the Gluten Free BS isn't helping anymore. Not sure it ever did at this point.

I almost drooled all over myself when I smelled the fresh bread at the Subway DOWN THE BLOCK.

So, I grilled myself a tasty turkey and cheese sandwich and GOBBLED it. And you know what? It was the first time in a week that I DIDN'T have to run to the bathroom after eating. Go figure.

I'm so sick of trying to figure out this disease.

When was the last time YOU said "screw it", and ate the forbidden "fruit"? We all do it, right? I mean we all have a breaking point!

This past week actually! And it was literally fruit..only I ended up vomiting it back up after *possibly* having a partial obstruction. Seriously though, I fall every now and then. I ate the chocolate chips out of cookies I made a while back, but I actually felt all right so...I really don't know what to think of this disease sometimes. Simply dumbfounded.

I ate raw cucumbers in a special salad my mom makes. I had 1/4 of a cup 2 days in a row. I paid for it a bit, but it was a day or two later. I was gassier, and my belly felt bloated. It took a few days to return to normal. No more raw foods for awhile!

Occasionally, I'll eat a piece of fruit leather. It's probably something I shouldn't indulge in yet, so I limit it to rare occasions.

Oh yeah, I cheat all the time. I usually can eat many things once in awhile, but I usually have problems if I eat the same thing more than a few days in a row. I personally live on a low residue diet all the time, it seems to work much better for me, and in my opinion much less restrictive.

Ya, I get grief from my DH when he sees me eat something that he knows I shouldn't. But, its hard to stay away from some of your favorite things when they only bother you 3 or 4 times out of 10. And I don't eat the bothersome foods regularly, only once in a while. I try to explain to him, but he's one of those silly people who eat because they have to eat to survive, where as I am one of those people who live to eat. I just love all things FOOD.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

I did celiac diet for awhile, when they thought I had celiac disease. Anyway I lost 30 lbs in a month on that diet. Drs said never mind go back to how you were eating before. And I did, no reaction, I actually felt better. That was years ago though. I couldn't possibly eat that much roughage now. But that diet is so restrictive, not fun.
Just finished prednisone taper of 40mg in 6 weeks.  We'll see if it works.
