Do i have that spelled correctly???? Any info would be great.medcost will not pay for humira.just startin that, out of pocket. I realize it is new. Remicaid will be covered?????????? 2 hours there 2 hour infussion,2 hours back!! Any ideas??????????????

If you will check our resources thread you will see Ivy6's medication thread. You might want to check that to get others thoughts on Cimzia.

Been living with Crohn's Disease for 33 years. Currently on Asacol, Prilosec, Estrace, Prinivil, Diltiazem, Percoset prn for pain, Zofran, Phenergan, Probiotics, Calcium  w/Vit D, and Xanax as needed for my anxiety.  Resections in 2002 and 2005. Also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, and Anxiety. Currently my Crohns is in remission, but my joints are going crazy!

I lost response to Remicade, so I'm on Cimzia now. I think it's helping, but sometimes it's hard to tell. I'm not in remission, but I am off of oral steroids for a couple weeks now.

I do not have any bad side effects from the Cimzia other than a bruise at the injection site. (It turns a funny whitish color for a couple days.) But, that's not troublesome or painful in any way. In fact, I just had my shots this morning and it's just another day.

--female dx as UC in '04 (1st symptoms in '03), switched to Crohn's in '05, 1 fistula, crohn's colitis, limited to large intestine  --rejected (reaction/didn't work): Asacol, AZA, 6-MP, MTX, Remicade, Humira, prednisone, Tysabri
--Prochymal in Phase III study (can't wait til it's approved!)
--Compounded budesonide 3mg/daily, Started Cimzia first dose 2/10/09.  Dx Osteoporosis 10/08 started Forteo 1/27/09
