Hi All,
Well I knew this was coming but didnt think it would happen so soon after my ileostomy surgery on march 4th this year, we are now having to take the rectum and anus out and its happening on the 30th of this month. Also saw the rheumy yesterday and he has put me back on methotrexate for my joint pain which is almost certainly RA. If the methotrexate is unsuccessful then we will be going for humira again as well. They have said that once this surgery is completed it should help my eyes and joints as well since I have also suffered terribly with iritis. I am really scared about undergoing another surgery, I know there is no other road left for me. Its all just so final, I guess eventually having an ileostomy will become second nature for me but feel as though Im still trying to get my head around all this. My surgeon originally thought we would be able to wait for at least 12 months before we would need to do this surgery but because of my current problems and liver readings being so high again they said it cant wait. Sorry Im ranting a bit. Just need to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening and being there. I hope u are all well

Sorry another surgery is in your near future, but hopefully this surgery will help you to get back on the road to feeling better. Here's hoping your surgery brings you to a long well deserved remission. Good luck!

Wow that is difficult. You have been suffering so mouch so I'm praying this solves all the problems you are having and you get well in no time! Please remember that others have been there before you and certainly can help you through this. I am always amazed at the people on the ostomy board. They are so strong and capable!

Take care.

how are you doing?  I remember reading  you were scheduled for surgery on the 30th and just wanted you to know you'll be in our thoughts and prayers  as this date approaches.

Huge hugs for you, Andorable. I can't even begin to imagine how tired you're feeling.

May I recommend a book for you? "Izzy, Willy-Nilly" by Cynthia Voigt. It's a teen book, but I think you might really identify with how the main character is feeling, and the book might help you get through this tough time. I know it helped me, when I was at my lowest.

Hang in there. We care, and keep sending you good thoughts.
