Has anyone else used this diet? I've been getting very good results with it and I'm curious about other people's experiences. I started using the SCDiet about 10 months ago and experienced some improvements in my Crohn's symptoms, but I still had flares and bad days. Over the 10 months I kept testing foods and restricting my diet based on how my body reacted. My diet ended up quite a bit more restricted than the SCD, but I have managed to find foods that leave me totally symptom free. No D, pain, gas or bloating (which I had all the time/many times a day for over 3 years) and no bleeding (which I have had a bit of occasionally). Eventually I checked the book "Life without Bread" and found that what I can tolerate matches the Lutz diet almost exactly. It's pretty amazing how my symptoms have vanished, but if I eat many carbs i get hammered every time. One thing to note, I'm also using LDN and a bunch of supplements, but given how much I react to the introduction of carbs every time, I'm pretty sure it's the diet that's making the biggest difference. I just wanted to check and see if other's have had this experience.

Hi Ryan!

Yes, we've talked about this diet before here. If you want to read some of the posts on it, put "life without bread" in the forum search at the top. Especially take a look at any posts by "Osprey". He was following it 100% and having fabulous results! Good luck to you!

Thanks for the reply EMom. I checked out some of the previous posts, but it doesn't seem like Lutz's diet attracts much attention. Of course, Crohn's is so individual, but I wonder if it wouldn't help more people if they tried it?

That is the point of SCD. You have to trial and error as you introduce each food to see how it reacts. If it pisses it off, try again later. SCD just gives you a starting point so you know exactly what is pissing you off. Then alot of people have gluten issues and dont even know it...
SCD since 01, remission since 01, occasional random junk food breaks :)
No meds ever.
