I apparently have an obstruction. My GI dr has me onn cipro flagyl and high does of steriods. He says at this point we could go 2 ways. We could see if I feel better after taking this meds and hope it goes down. Or surgery. What is your guys expierence with obstructions?

Thank you!
DX in 2007. Was on Asacol for almost 2 years and the Entocort for 6 months. That has now stopped working so currently on Prednisone while trying to get up the courage to take Remicade.

Well it depends on the cause of the obstruction. If it consists of inflammation then the meds will help, if its scar tissue then the meds won't work. I say give the meds a chance and see if that helps or not.

Good luck,

I agree with Nanners.

Luckily all of my obstructions have past with just medical interventions or very minor surgeries.

It really comes down to how do you feel and if you feel you are at risk of perforating?

In the past most of the time walking has helped alot for me, but if you are really feeling bad it might not be a good thing.
