Well, I have never posted anything on here before, but I have been having  problems with severe cramping in my lower abdominal and shooting pains up my rectum. The only difference is that my lower back will hurt also and I am a female so it will actually hurt in my vaginal walls as well. I am not pregnant, so I don't think it has anything to do with that, I have also been checked for the usual S.T.D.'s and Nada as well. I have never been diagnosed with Crohn's disease before, so I was also curious if it was possible to find out later in life since I am 22 years old? The pain is really severe and it scares me that I could have this much pain with out some sort of reason or explanation as I also do not have hemorrhoids, if anyone could help me I would be much appreciative.

Sounds a lot like I was YEARS before I was diagnosed. Maybe see if you can't get a CATscan with contrast and/or an MRI across your lower abdomen. That's what found that I had a massive infection that was shutting down my internal organs. It was causing swelling in a disc in my spine as well. I couldn't enjoy sex with my (at the time) boyfriend (married him haha). It was pretty special pain. No STD's, but pain in my lower back, cramping, a continual burning fire feeling in my lower gut. Sex was painful. Ended up with a hemorrhoid from always feeling like I needed to go and from a feeling of gas I couldn' out. They thought maybe I had cancer (at least my gynecologist did) from blood work and from the physical exam. Still and all...I didn't get diagnosed for five years. I had three surgeries after I went to my gynecologist...who sent me on to a gastroenterologist who said before she'd examine me I needed a CATscan with contrast, an MRI, and a small bowel follow through.

Hope you get some answers...and hope its nothing serious.

I would get the vaginal and shooting pains. Also Dxed in my 20s. I don't know what caused it. I think it may have to do with some changes with my cycle. They went away the whole time I was pregnant and have stayed away so far through my breast feeding. I had the feeling even when in remission.

I also have a stricture. Maybe it could be something with that. I never bothered finding out since I otherwise felt good. The shooting pain is a jolt though isn't it?

Hey, I wasn't diagnosed until I was 52--despite years of doctors' visits and symptoms (and unnecessary surgeries). I know that if I've had lots of diarrhea and straining for several days, I'll start getting shooting pains in my lower back, sometimes so strong that it feels as if I'm being cut in two. I've always felt that they come from inflammation or stress on the nerves in and around my rectum and colon. Since those areas are so close to your vaginal walls, it wouldn't surprise me if you got shooting pains there, too.
