It seems there is a question about OT posts on the healingwell site. Looks like some of them have been blocked for reasons unknown to me, but none the less it has made some people uncomfortable. As most of you may know I am guilty of a lot of OT posts. Truth be told , I dont have good answers for most of the questions here . If I did I would hang out a shingle saying    Sniper, mad doctor , and cure us all. So I try to bring a little diversion from the stress and worry and pain of not knowing the answers to what troubles us . I have always thought that a smile or laugh is good medicine, especially when dealing with things we have no control over and no cure for. I guess the question here is , am I doing any good or am I agitating people ?  So I need some input . Forget the fact that I am a sensitive guy shakehead . Dont be afaid to hurt my feelings cry . Tell me straight , I can take it smhair . Just tell me the truth nono . I wont get upset skull . When you see a post from old sniper do you go yeah or skip down to the,, my butt hurts post ?

If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

Personally I like the humor, as it helps to distract even for a short while. I think its good to have a mix of both, and I think they both help us all. JMHO

As you said "laughter is the best medicine".

I look forward to yours and anyone elses OT posts actually cuz the OT posts humanize everyone more rather than dealing with a bunch of sickos all the time LOL, it's nice to have OT's break up the monotony on a board that is full of alot of pain, it gets depressing so I look forward to the OT's.

Dr. Sniper!  I want you to cure me!!  As long as the cure doesn't entail some eldritch bayou slime concoction.   skull     Do you accept payment in chickens?

I know of two posts related to the US health care debate that were locked, and I can see how they were in violation of the foum rules. But humor is so nescessary with this DD.  Any levity is so welcome and helpful in so many ways!  Easy examples are the potty van and bathroom outfitting posts from a while back.  Really funny, and great ideas too!  So please keep up the OTs!

Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.

nothing is really off topic if it can be related to CD somehow . a humorous post about TP, bathrooms, gas, poop, underwear, toilets, facial expressions, etc.. is always welcome by me. i saw a post or two about OT posts. it seemed to me to be a question of "is this site suppossed to be a strictly medical info site" and i say NO! once people find out there answer for their particular problem we want them to come back and visit and contribute other than just when they have a problem dont we? the more people hang around the larger resource we have as a group. if it takes a bit of humor or irreverance to do that i say yes!

I love my potty-van, without it I couldn't go shopping, or anywhere really for that matter...mind you I'd probably spend less money if I didn't have my potty-van but then I'd have no sanity so it's either no money or no sanity, which of the 2 is worse?

Nothing more freeing than pooping in the potty at the back on my van while hubby is doing 120 down the highway LOL!

This is a community! I don't want to see it become just one thing allowed. Who would come here for that? As has been said many times before - we're all different.

We are all different, and that being said some people like to come here only for medical advice/questions, and some need the humor and laughs...I personally need both, and I'm sure a ton more people agree with that.  I mean really, where else can you make a joke about poop and such without getting dirty looks. =P  Not only that but where else can you make a joke about that stuff but actually have people on the other side of their computers understand what you are saying...and also understand that behind those jokes is someone who is hurting.  This forum brings a smile to my face and also a tear to my eye, it keeps this DD real, but managable for me and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I like reading your posts. I can't really say more than that except I hope that you keep posting them.

I hunt down Sniper posts because they ease the medical overload I have every day.  Since I first started here, OT posts make my day.  If I had to focus only on disease/med questions here, I would stay with my Wilton website only.  Humor is what gets me past the ugliness of this disease.
Dx'd '90 (emergency rupture), symptoms ignored long before that, '03 fistulas and bad flagyl reactions, B12 weekly, Pentasa [until I surrender to the bigger meds]

I'm riding on the escalator of life....

Wellllllllll now. This has made my day. For when it comes to answering most crohnie questions I am about,,well,, useless. I deal with crohns , AS, diabetes, PTSD, and loss of feeling in my feet and toes. Not to mention old age . I like to joke around because it makes me feel better too. Its a little strange to make a funny on line because you cant see anyones reaction, so I had to ask . Glad to see you guys get a smile from my twisted humor. Thanks for letting me know. I will keep OTs coming .

Honestly, I love your posts. I have been known to tell about your posts to other people I work with. Please keep up the humor without it I think most of us would parish.

Pb4 -- pooping while going 120 miles per hour?? Is that what they mean by "fast transit time??"

ditto syd.
27 Year old married female.  Graduated law school this year and waiting for results of the bar exam.  Start a new job sometime in September.  Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night.  I take xanax prn for situational anxiety (aka no easy bathroom access).

Keep 'em coming! I love your posts and the conversations that come of them.

My 2 cents -- is it a particular mod that is deleting or blocking them? Just my own curiousity.

Habs is hunting down Sniper. Isn't Sniper suppose to be doing the hunting?

But I always enjoy a Sniper post, OT or not. And I'm glad you seem to have found some of your funny again.

Also, pooping while going 120 miles per hour gives new meaning to "skid marks."

Sniper! See what you have done!?! What a potty mouth I have right now. I'm in need of your "one shot, one cure"
