Hello! My name is Rebecca, and I have joined Team Challenge to train for a half-marathon to benefit the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America. As you may be aware, CCFA donates literally millions of dollars ($16 mil in 2007 alone) to researchers conducting state-of-the art work searching for a cure for Crohns and colitis, and also provides numerous valuable programs for patients of these illnesses.

My challenge is two-fold: (a) I need to learn to run (I guess I should start by stating that I have never run more than five miles consecutive, let alone 13.1 miles) and (b) I want to bring as much attention as possible to the cause and work of CCFA, to bring these illnesses to the public's eye and break the silence while we search for a cure.

I am hoping you can help with both of these goals. I have created a blog to journal the training process, and a Cause on Facebook to highlight personal stories and provide helpful information for patients and supporters! Please join "Race to Las Vegas to Cure Crohns and Colitis" on Facebook and share your story or support! Also, if interested, please feel free to stop by xxxxx to see how things are going on the training end!
Please feel free to post this information anywhere else you might find people interested in Crohns and a cure! Thanks for your help!
*Sorry I had to edit your post, due to Rule #5 Rule 5:
  • Posts and links about fundraising (including nonprofit fundraisers) are NOT permitted.  Thank you though for your support for Crohns. *Gail*Nanners*
