Hi Kellznpc8784. I was on Remicade for about 7 years with no problems. I recently switched to Humira because the Remicade wasnt being as effective as it was before. I didnt respond to most medicines when I was diagnosed but after starting Remicade I went into full remission after only a few months and got to live my high school years Crohns FREE!! I used to call Remicade my miracle drug! I was started on Remicade when I was too young to make that decision for myself and my mom was jsut so desperate to get me feeling better, at the time they didnt know the long term effects of Remicade so she said ok. Knowing what I know now, if I hadnt of been on it for so long already I would probably be very scared too. I hope things work out for you. Keep us updated.

I was on it for about a year and it put me into remission.  I ended up losing response to it and then started having allergic reactions to it and had to stop.  But, then I got on a trial for Cimzia, then switched to Humira and am now switching back to Cimzia because nothing is taking care of the arthritis.  Before having reactions, I loved the Remicade, but having allergic reactions to it (even after premedicating and going to the hospital for slower infusions) was very scary and I would never try it again because of them.  But, many people do great on it without any reactions.

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)
