OK..i  called a non-emergency ambulance 4 days ago after I injured my back pretty badly.  :'0         I have always thought that If u break a bone or fracture...u dont agrivate  the injury??   Right?   Well, i went to emerg where i was left laying in the hallway "lack of space" thinking.."how am I gonna get to the bathroom if my crohns acts up?"  2 hours later, I was wheeled into the emergency room where the doctor asked me a few questions, gave me reeealy strong pain killers, then left me to fall asleep for 4 hours.
They came back, asked if i was feeling better, I said "no" , they gave me more drugs, left me for another 4 hours, then came back..   No one told me to try to move or anything to that matter?? nothing?  I was just glad my crohns was behaving bcuz my crohns has caused so much damage that my muscles to control my bowels no longer works...:(
After 9 hours, the nurse says.."u cant just lay there, u have to try to move!"  I was surprised bcuz Id been taught to keep injuries still?? "guess not?" She left and I tried to get off the bed. I got stuck leaning on the edge of the bed for 1/2 hr crying and not one person offered to help? I barely made it fighting through the excrucaiting pain that shot through my legs andback.
Then, the next shift came on and I got the same thing..meds and try to walk? I told her I needed to pee and she said I should try to get there myself? I told her I couldnt and she got mad...saying I had to try agian!  Sooooo, I tired!  I fell on the floor in tears, and "not one" nurse offered to help me off the floor. I crawled to the other side of the bed with a chair and managed to drag my self up off the floor. Snot drooling down my face and my eyes all swollen. I sat in the chair and "then" the nurse had the nerve to come over and say "what are u trying to do?"  I wanted to kill her!!  I said I want to pee and u told me to go by my self! She said I shouldnt have done it if I couldnt!! I freaked out and said "YOU told me to!"  When they got the results from the Mri..they shot me out the door.  I live alone, cant move and have crohns??  ***? Thank god for my friends and family who have been checking in on me.  I hate Emerge!!

Thank you Snow, I just want to forget about it and am dredding the day I have to go back. I know with Crohns, I will eventually end up there. My sister is a careaid and tried to explain their actions? Im still at home and on my own. Ive had accidents and it takes a while to clean it up but "thankgod" no one is around to see it. Thank u for caring. Celine

Do as SnowCrystal said, report the incident. If you don't have any names, talk to someone in the hospital's higherups and tell them what happened. They should be more than willing to help you.

Honestly, I'd be thinking about a lawsuit.
