Hi everyone,  I caught my daughers upper respirotry infection.  The symptoms started on Saturday.  I started an antibitoc on Monday after having to call of work due to feeling just crummy.  The next few days were worse and I ended up at my GI on Wed.  I told him I would try to come in because I had been in the bathroom every 20 minutes or so and was unable to make it into see my family doctor that morning.  I went in and he took me right in so I could lay down and be by the bathroom.  My bloodpressure was higher than normal (146/83) and he informed me that I have not only the URI, but also the flu.  He said I was deyhydrated and I told him that well....of course.
He didn't see anything irregular about my BMs being a yellowish tan.  He said that the IBD was irritated by the ick I have and told me that due to the imuran I need to get onto an antibioc.  I told him I already had been taking one since monday.   He put me off work for the rest of the week.  I have to go have bloodwork done sometime monday or tuesday.
I am just worried of course that there is more too it than this illness I have.  I don't want to go into a full blown flare.  I just keep thinking I am in more of a flare than he believes.
I guess if my stomach pain and BMs slow down after I finish my antibiotic I will feel better.
Thank you for listening to me vent....I really do appreciate you all.

Take good care of yourself! Flu can be dangerous when you are on immune suppressors. Take extra vitamin C and D if you have it on hand.

I can tell you also that for us Crohnies, when we get the flu or URI we tend to get hit a little harder than most. My husband and I had the stomach flu about 2 months ago. He was fine the next day, but it took me a good week to recover from it. Take good care of yourself, and if you don't feel like your improving soon, be sure to reach out to your doctors. Better safe than sorry.

I hope you get feeling better soon.
