smilewinkgrin  hi im new to confusers and such , have been informed have crohns a few years ago 3 actually but as it was mild and ididnt do well with entcourt & pentassa(think thats its name) was left with diet but now have gallstones &a stricture at terminal illium they is threatening surgery so from nothing to all in one go am worried and fed up food is boring as lactose intolerant to, rats!!!! so thoght wud b good to talk to othersin same situation . so hi all smilewinkgrin

Hey Beeble and welcome to Healingwell. Sorry you for the reason you have to be here though. Are they saying the stricture is from inflammation or scar tissue. If it is from inflammation meds can help to heal it, if it is from scar tissue then surgery is usually the only hope. I am a big believer in maintainence meds just for this reason, without meds the disease is allowed to continue doing its microscopic damage and strictures then occur. I once went med free and it ended in a very ugly manner with an emergency resection. Learned my lesson and now always take some kind of maintenence med. Good luck!

thanks nanners at least im not alone as have stenosis arthritus in spine permanent slipped discs carpel tunnel so cant walk to good and yes stricture due to scarring so not to happy and just a little scared shakehead

Hi Beeble...welcome..What meds are you on?  I have the same issue going on right now, Im on Humira for the Crohns. I just recently was told about spinal stenosis, going for a CT scan on Friday to see what else is going on, but no meds are helping with all my joint and back pain. I also have carpal tunnel...Bowel Resection last strictures yet...  good luck with everything :-))

hi kelly thanks for reply, im currently on morphine suiphate 160mg slow release twice a day and buscopan also just started on omega 3 (1000mg) TRIPTOFEN 10MG for stenosis but joint pain and nerve pain drive me potty,calcium supplements coz im lactose intolerant also vit b inj. omacor is new idea for crohns so heres hoping. good luck with scan been thru it and i know its hard as u have so much more to cope with and some days not sure which is worse senses get over loaded and fall asleep almost pass out really but keep going coz of the good days
