So a horrible gastro virus is going around my house. I had it for a week and just getting over it. All 5 of the kids have it now. Imagine 5 vomiting children and 2 backed up toilets, not a pretty sight lol
Anyways, Sami is vomiting quite frequently, unable to keep anything down and her output in her ileostomy is large and watery. I know to watch for dehydration and for liver bile (she ends up vomiting liver bile after bouts of vomiting everything else out) but right now she is vomiting stomach bile with quite a bit of thick white mucous. Is this normal? I haven't seen this type of mucous from her before or she has and I've never seen it as she has always vomited into the toilet but right now is using a bucket.
I have talked to her GI nurse but that was earlier before all the mucous. I have another call in but it is clinic day so not sure when they will get back to me.
I also haven't given her, her 6MP yet due to her not being able to keep anything down.
Also is there anything else I can do besides gingerale and pedialyte and gravol?

I can't think of anything else you can do but keep on at the doctor, if she gets worse or you don't hear back it might be worth a trip to the hospital just to get her checked out. Poor thing stomach viruses are nasty, I hope she gets some relief soon.

I'm just getting over a nasty stomach bug too and I was bringing up tons of that foamy stomach bile. I think you just get to that when there's nothing left and you're dehydrated. Hope things improve soon. The virus that hit us was AWFUL, my toddler's still having some issues a week later.
Mom to a healthy Pentasa baby and pregnant with #2. 5+ years remission, woo hoo!
