I've in the past had a lumbar fusion in 04' and since have had pain around my L5-S1 however; in the past couple of weeks I've had unbearable pain in my left hip. It feels like tissue but I can't be sure, and I don't want to panic. I do remember over extending it but not to that degree. I guess what I'm wondering is should I call my pcp or my pm dr. I don't know who to call at this point or what to do. I wake up several times a night in pain and then during the day I'm so tired. I've cut way back on my pain medication and I want to keep it that way. However; I know if I go back to the doctor they are going to want to put me up on pain medication and drug me up. Not sure what to do. My back hurts on and off but is managable at the time.

I would see your PCP first to have them run maybe a MRI of the area to see whats up and then they can refer you to what type of doctor bests treats the issue. Good luck!
