When you get a colon scope get the lots of pain killers before the doc starts!!!

I went today for a short scope up the colon (50 cm up, the whole colon is 130 cm) and I never get any drugs when I get a short scope.
Well the nurse offered me some and I said "no, I never had them before and I want be needing them today".

Boy was I wrong :S

When the doc was done and pulling the scope out I got the worst Colon cramp in history. I could not move I was crying and I had this stabbing pain in my shoulder.
Well the nurse offered me drugs again :) But my doc said it would pass in 5-8 minutes. It did not !!!
I got Paracetamol and Codeine tablet and a hot bottle on my tummy.

I was lying there in some bad pain for two hours. Thats when I felt ok to drive home.

Now 7 hours later my colon still hurts and I am very tired in my body from all that pain.

Just a friendly reminder :P

p.s. my colon looks great, except for the first 10 cm up then it looks like crap. But it is better then the last scope :)

Aww I am so sorry you are hurting so bad. That sounds awful and I will definetly remember to ask for drugs should I be in your shoes one day. Gentle Hugs!
