does anybody know anything about cobra? do they extend beyond the 18 months? or is 18 as far as they go. my gi wants me to start remicade and i haven't gotten my cobra yet, filed out the forms and my wife and i are eligable for the 65% discount, but i'm afraid to do the expensive remicade, i figured for sure i wouldn't get an extension. i was on imuran and pred. and the pred worked but the imuran wasn't so good, my gi wants me to start remicade.

artist...I am in the middle of a conference now, but will look up the details later. I do know that there are eligible reasons for COBRA to be extended and it is sometimes allowed as far out as 3 years. I have to look up the actual language. Until then, the best thing for you to do is call your HR person and ask who is handling your COBRA administration. Speak to the COBRA administrator to get exactly what situation you fall under.
