well after the emerg room thursday, scope friday i was admitted into the hospital and finally got home last night.  still not great today.  I went from the worst D ever to not going (Never happens to me lol) guess was the moraphine IV lol.  I was so backed up and they did a CT with contrast ( drank 3 big cups) and nothing came out and then the next day decided to do a small bowel follow through so drank the barium.  2 big cups and then after a couple pics was given another to drink.  (I hate this test)  then the gas wouldn't work up the other end (gee i don't know i tried to tell them i was blocked couldn't even pass gas) so they gave me this lovely crap to swallow and then a swig of water that foamed and popped to put gas in my system.  I think the tests were worse than being sick before you went in there.  The prednisone is working though (and the remicade) my xrays were actually better (then why do i feel like crap????) but then the contrast wouldn't come out so i got to drink double the amt clean prep (till i was throwing up and couldn't possibly swallow anymore) which finally made my bowels start again however day 3 and still white contrast coming out.  Does anyone know is this something to worry about??????  WHenever i have had this test i was dying to go on the table and emptied out pretty fast but with being obstructed nothing came out at all after my tests for a day till they overloaded me with prep to clean it out which really didn't work 100 percent either.
But good news is that apparently i am on the mend and with the tapering pred and my last loading infusion hopefully i'll be feeling much better soon.  Thanks everyone for there advise last week when i didn't know if i should go in or not hoping for some better days soon.

Make sure to stay hydrated!! Drink a lot of water if you can, because barium can harden in your system and can cause problems. It affects everyone differently though. Some people have diarrhea from barium, while others get constipated from it (of course as you know pain meds do slow your system down and can explain why you got constipated) That being said, it can take a couple days for all of the barium to come out. Usually I have bowel movements that are slightly white-ish for a couple days after any test that includes barium. As long as you're still having bowel movements I wouldn't worry.

Glad to hear that you're improving though!!! Hopefully things will continue to get better for you!

I agree with Bar77, whenever you have Barium tests its really important to drink lots of water afterwards to flush that cement out of you. Hope you get feeling better soon. Hugs~
