I've posted many times here about my persistent nausea/vomiting and the battle with my not-so-great GI, but I've finally gotten a tiny bit of good news. He has decided, after a gastric emptying study done two weeks ago, that I have gastroparesis, and is finally getting around to doing something about it. Vomiting almost every day, and it takes this long to get it right . . . I digress. At least he's doing something now -- yay, right?
He's put me on Reglan, 4 times a day. I've only been taking it since Thursday, and even though I'm in remission and the Remicade has really done a great job at keeping the typical Crohn's diarrhea at bay, I've been practically living in the bathroom ever since I started taking Reglan. Today's been the worst, I feel like I'm in the middle of a colonoscopy prep.
Has anyone else taken Reglan (metoclopramide) for gastroparesis or nausea, and is there something to be done about the diarrhea? Normally, when I know I have to eat and won't have an opportunity to go to the bathroom, I pop a Welchol and am good for about 12 hours, but it's not helping at all right now.
Diagnosed with Crohn's in 2008 at the age of 22.
