I use to come on here all the time but after I had my second set of twins 2 1/2 years ago I never had time. Well my Croh's story is kind of simple. I've had Crohn's for about 20 years. Dr.s have put me on many kinds of meds. and none of them worked. After I was hospitalized 4 times I finally had a resection in 2004. Which did nothing for the poops. Katrina hit in 2005 husband lost job and we lost our house and just didn't feel like going to a Dr. But I finally decided to go and went to gastro. dr. last week. He put me on colestid and it has been great. I still get the poops but not as much. Now I have to bring my son to the drs. next week because he has severe constipation. If he could give me a little of his problem and if I gave him a little of mine then maybe him and I would be a little better. I am glad to be back on here with people who know what I'm dealing with.

Welcome back. I had severe constipation as a child. I was not diagnosed with Crohn's until a few years ago, but keep a close eye on your son. I tend to be constipated a lot more often than D, and your son's doctor should be aware of your medical history

Oh goodness gumby44 your post makes me worry for my oldest Granddaughter. None of my girls have developed Crohns, but my 12 year old Granddaughter has the hardest time going poop. My daughter said sometimes that she can;t believe the size of the poops that come out of her and that sometimes she is in the bathroom 45 minutes just trying to go. When she was a baby sometimes her poops would get stuck halfway out and we would have to help her get it out. I hope and pray she never develops this darn disease.
