I am now on day 5 of Prednisone 40 mg... and Colestipol 2 tabs. My joint pain has disappeared which is awesome. My concern is my movements.. I was going between 10 and 15x a day even with the entocort. Now with this drug combination, I have a little diarrhea 2x and some mucus but than thats it for the rest of the day. I have not gone alot.. or normally, whatever that is. When you have been sick for so long, how long does it take for your movements to become normal again, am I constipated?

I am going to call the dr tomorrow but just want to draw on your experiences... I really don't want to complain because I was able to leave the house yesterday for the first time since January...I actually went grocery shopping. I am fighting a nasty cold though that my son gave me..

I really have no idea what to expect.. thank you.

Prednisone always slows me way down. I use stool softners in order to keep things softer and easier to pass. Maybe ask your doctor if that is okay for you to use too. Good luck!

The colestipol will slow you way down, as will the prednisone. I actually take a similar drug to colestipol, but I only take it if I will be traveling or when bathroom access will be questionable. And even then, I take a fraction of the dose I was prescribed. Since this is an off-label use for the drug, it is something that you can play with the dosing to find the right amount for you. Of course speak to your doctor first. I found that if I took the amount prescribed I wouldn't go to the bathroom for days, not really the desired result. So I found the amount that worked for me.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

Prednisone, 6MP,Prevacid, B12 shots, Bentyl, Xifaxan.....
