I went to the Dr yesterday and they wouldnt see me because they raised my share of cost again and I would have had to pay $800 to be seen.  Therefore, I will no longer be able to see my GI until that has been met. The nurse told me before I left that the Upper GI and Small Bowel Series I did came back clear. I know there has to be more testing done because I am still getting diarrhea, my bones still hurt and I feel worn out.
My question to  you all is this.. Can I go to the ER and ask to be admitted and have all the tests run while I am there? Cant they get an approval through my GI for that?

Wow 800 hundred to be seen. With no insurance at all it is 160 for a office visit with the GI in Kansas. I have no idea what to tell you. Except I am sorry you are going thru this.

Well you can go to the ER, but I will tell you that most times they just treat the current symptoms and then send you home. In other words they would probably suggest something to ease the diarrhea and pain meds for the joint pain. Unless I was really serious, most times thats the kind of treatment I got in the ER. But.....if you are in severe pain, they may keep you to see whats going on. I too am sorry you are going thru this. Hugs!

$800 to be seen sounds ridiculous. I don't know of any Dr. that would be that much just for an office visit.... Sure that wasn't your cost for an actual procedure?

Wow, Thanking Canadian medical system once again.

If you do decide to go to the ER (won't this cost you more money in the end? Sorry I'm ignorant about such things) may I suggest you exaggerate your symptoms, don't lie, just make them as bad as you have experienced them. If your not able to eat, talk about that, same with sleeping, the pain is 9/10, that kind of thing.

I send you healing thoughts, and wish you the best,
