been in a flare just got on presdinone, 40 mg, had constant diarrhea, now changed to constpation,
any suggestions, what i could do to get things rolling.been drinking plenty of liquid,
had cooked veggies last night, had a bowl of gluten free corn flakes this morning with dried blueberrie, been thinking of having some MANGO JUICE OR ORANGE JUICE,
BEEN DRINKING some apple cider, any suggestions welcome, i would rather not take metmucil
i want it to try to come naturally, i am also taking ASACOL, NO PAIN SOME STOMACH GURGLING,

I suffer with more constipation that diarrhea. I take stool softners nightly in order to keep things softer and easier to pass. Work very well for me without the cramping etc that laxatives can cause. Another suggestion might be Miralax, this is a generally mellow laxative that GI's recommend when you are backed up. But I prefer the stool softers. Good luck!

if i need to just empty my system, i drink fresh home made vegetable juice. you need a juicer for this to remove the pulp and fiber the blender leaves behind. if i want to work things out slowly, i use aloe vera juice (lilly of the valley) with the anolin (sp?) in it. the taste isnt that great, but the anolin is a mild laxative. large doses of vitamin C acts as a laxative too.

as for D, i use probiotics to clog me up. i take 2-3 every hour or so until it goes away.

this all seems to work for me.

Crohn's since 1993 (17 yrs old then)
surgery in July '05 - removal of 2 inches at ileum and 8 inches of sigmoid colon (had fistula into bladder)
Nov '05 developed colonic inertia; July '06 told i needed ostomy surgery
began maker's diet in August '06 - now feeling the best ever with no symptoms of colonic inertia and i kept my colon
med free as of 10/31/07
