Hey it has been a while.  I sort of dropped off in January when I finally had my first resection.  My small bowel had built up A LOT of scar tissue with very narrow (5mm) strictures that were everywhere in a 60cm section of the small intestine.  Let me tell you something -- once you end up with tight strictures from scar tissue you are basically SCREWED.  Aside from surgery there is nothing that can be done (no meds, no diet, no herbs, no pills, etc.)  I had to spend 6 weeks on a liquid diet leading up to the surgery, which was not fun at all.  The good news is that the resection really worked well.  They removed 60cm (2 ft) of small bowel and I feel much better.  I just went in for a scan and there is no sign of disease activity, except for a section of the terminal ileum that had 3 small ulcers and some mild imflammation.  The ulcers biopsied NEGATIVE for crohn's.  The doctor wants to put me on remicade (350mg) but my personal preference would be to try something safer like LDN to see how it works.  What does everyone make of all this?  Any feedback that anyone has would be appreciated.  Right now the only thing I am doing is SCD (no meds since January.)  CH
