It's been a while since writing here. I have Crohn's and have had it for a while. I manage it with meds and diet. I have been suffering since this past winter with back issues and what has been formally diagnosed as Fibromyalgia. I tried Savella for that and the side effects were too intense, so now I'm taking 800 mg. of ibuprophen with an Ultram every 12 hours for hip pain along with tendonitis in my feet. I know this is almost too boring to read, but please bear with me. I also have severe scalp psoriasis which is really acting up right now, too. I did research online and am wondering about psoriatic arthritis. I have an appointment with the pain specialist that I see for "fibromyalgia" and am trying to think of the best approach to use in bringing this up to him. Does anyone have ideas? Does anyone else here have these symptoms? I have been reading that some Crohn's patients have psoriasis tendencies. HELP!!!
Thank You!

I have a friend with psoriatic arthritis and it really affects him very badly sometimes.  He gets the psoriasis all over though.  He has been treated with steroids before and I think Humira.  I would just describe your symptoms to the doc and ask if this could be a possibility.  By the way, does the ibuprofen not affect your Crohn's?  When I was diagnosed my doc told me no more anti-inflammatory drugs like that ever! Good luck!

Thanks for your reply, ALgirl! Yes, the ibuprophen does affect my Crohn's. It's the only thing that helps the pain level, though, until I could get in to see the doc. I haven't taken any last night or today and my hips, feet, and thumb are all screaming! I hope I can get help today, for sure. Wish me luck!

Be very very careful with that Ibruprofen or Aleve type meds they can cause bleeding in us Crohnies. Some of the meds such as Remicade, Humira, Enbrel or Methotrexate might be good options to help get this under control. Keep us posted what the doc says.
