I had a very frank discussion with my Crohn's Disease this morning. I informed it that I'm not really digging our relationship all that much and that I thought it was time it moved on.  I explained that its presence was quite bothersome and that I didn't really want to pal around together. "We can't be friends anymore", I said. I was very much hoping it would take the news well and heed my advice to stay away; however, I must have hurt its feeling because it's retaliating by doing mean things.
It knows I have a function tonight, so it has cast smelly gas and poop your brains out spells on me. I'm angry. My butt hurts. I hate it.  Not just knock your socks off gross yourself and everyone else around you out kinds of gas. It's the kind where you have absolutely no warning whatsoever and don't even have a chance to find a safe haven to let it out privately and then spray some Lysol to mask the stench. And it burns. I've barely eaten anything today and it's bad enough now. Can't imagine how bad it's going to be tonight when I'm actually ingesting food. Perhaps I just won't eat. Sometimes it's better that way ~ for me and for anyone else in close proximity.
My vent for the day.

Sounds like you've been "venting" all day so far!  haha.

It's kinda like when you go to the GI and tell them you've been feeling pretty good, only to wake up the next day and have a horrible day. I think the CD hears you and does retaliate...it's a mean disease like that. I'll remember your post and not have any discussions with mine any time soon, and also knock on wood and cross my fingers at the same time.

I hope today was a better day!

Oh, and mdf, had to laugh at that..."venting" all day...lol!

I had a very similar discussion with my CD once. I think it matters. I told "it"  that it wasn't gonna win!!!! and that was that! Gotta get things right in your mind sometimes...I think it's healthy! Did it help? yes it does!

LOL, this reminds me of that joke where various body parts are fighting over who gets to be boss. I'd post it, but it's adult. Suffice to say, the tail-end of the colon wins (after going on strike and blocking up)!

Thank you all for your advice, support, the hugs and especially the humor.
The great news is I enjoyed the food and festivities on Saturday night along with everyone else without incident.
The bad news is I did have an "episode" the following morning. I call it the colon prep evacuation. It's quite strange really, because there is nothing poop-like about it other than it comes out of the right place. It's more like what you see when you are prepping for a colonoscopy - major gush of water with yellowish mucusy stuff? What the heck is that??
