These are some RA meds(biologic) I have come across lately.  Been seeing commercials for Simponi.  I don't think these are approved for CD yet, but I am not sure.
Wondering if anyone has any info on them?

I have been taking Simponi for a year. It was prescribed for my Ankylosing Spondylitis. Last month I was taken off Imuran by my rheumatologist after being on it for almost 6 years. My GI said he felt the Simponi should control my CD since it is also a anti-TNF med.

Simponi is a monthly injection. Retail cost is about $1800.00. My copay for it is $9.00. If one takes Simponi, they should/must be on MTX. That is not a requirement for AS.

Haven't checked if Simponi is being tested in trials for CD. Simponi is made by Centocor, the same company that makes Remicade.

I read that they were going to start tests for Simponi for CD sometime soon -- but I read it about 4 months ago. If I can find the article, I'll add it here.
Diagnosed at 17, currently 23 :)  Have had 1 resection so far.  It's been an adventure!

I had never heard about Actemra (tocilizumab). I googled a bit but didn't see it mentioned with Crohns.
