Hi everyone, I'm new and just wanted to introduce myself.
I'm 23, Married, and have a wonderful 3 y/o little girl.
I got diagnosed 3 years ago, but obviously had had it for at least 9-10 years before, just thought I was "weird" and ignored all the stuff going on with me until I couldn't anymore.
I've been fighting to get to remission ever since, nothing has really worked yet :(
just got fired from my job in March from being sick just weeks after buying a house, skull
Just trying to find some poeple like me to feel like I'm not alone with this, thanks everyone!

hey tara, welcome to this forum, lots of smart people here, I lost my job,(the one with ins.) due to my cd, I had called in sick a lot and finally they were watching me, hopeing that I would do something wrong, and i did, which was due to the med's I was on, so yea you are not alone, I applied for ssdi, but I will be 60 this month and I have had cd for 40 years, many surgeries, a few obstructions which led to surgery. I go see a shrink today that ssdi is sending me to before they deem me 100% disabled. then at least i will get medicare ins.good luck to you in finding remission, i had surgically induced remission a few times

Hey, Tara! Sounds like you're in some dire straits... Have you gotten a new job... or is your husband or anyone helping you out with the whole house situation? I mean... I imagine ya still have to make payments and pay utilities and such...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Hi Tara! I was so moved by your story I made this my first post ever.

I'm 29 and a male. I don't even know if I have Crohn's, only that I have a fistula leading from my Small intestines to Bowel. I go into Surgery June 15th for a Bowel Resection. I pretty much have lost my job as I will be out another whole chunk for recovery that they won't tolerate. I was 2 months shy of being able to have health insurance through my job so the 2 three day hospitalizations mixed with abscess aspiration and when it recurred I had a drain installed (Today marked 42 days of living with this) are all uninsured, so I understand how heavy this can seem.

My only advice is seek the comfort of friends and family. I am desperately trying to do the same but I have had so many of them leave this town. Please Tara try to keep your chin up, I believe positive thinking is one of our best defenses against the malaise of any chonic disease.

My heart goes out to you and your family.

Thank you everyone for all the replies and support!! Yes my husband uses everything he makes for everything, and still have to go to my Mom & Dad on top of that( which I HATE)
I had been trying to go to get my RN, I was a Nurse Aide when I got fired, which with the Chron's and the Arthritis that has now come with it, I guess I can no longer do that, I can't squat, or lift or do any of the things I did before, I just got certified in Phebotomy, so hopefully I can get a new job I can actually do? I hope?!
My husband doesn't get insurance yet with his job, he just went from contract to full time and won't be eligible for another few months. So mom & dad are paying for my COBRA, that stuffs expensive!!! and I can't have a lapse with a pre-existing condition, so I have no choice...
Again, thanks everyone!!! smilewinkgrin
