Anyone have any problems with muscle cramps and Humira?  I had such painful muscle cramp(charley horse) while sitting on the couch.  I had a cramp in my left upper thigh on the front and at the same time had one in the back of my right upper thigh.  I was stuck on the couch and couldn't get up due to the cramping getting worse as I tried to move!  My GI doc said that it is listed as a rare side effect and has a few other patients report muscle cramps also.  He said to keep a log of when it happens and time wise of how it is related to the Humira shot. I had this particular episode two days after my Humira shot.   I really hope that this is not a side effect and maybe that my muscles were just fatigued after working two twelve hour days in a row...

I have not had any muscle cramping with Humira. I hope for your sake, it was just coincidence and that you truly were tired. Are you taking a vitamin regularly? I know that muscle cramps can come on when you are lacking certain vitamins - sometimes potassium, sometimes calcium. I hope you don't have any more cramping, but I think you should definitely do what your doc suggested and keep a record of when you get them.

I went a couple of days past my injection date of humira and took it.  The next day I had cramping in several parts of my body.  The most severe was my stomach.  I started drinking Gatorade and water right away and it helped a lot.

Hi SherBear, I never had that when I was on Humira. Sounds like you may have low potasiam levels. Maybe you should try eating bananas that may help.
I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease 1992 . I also was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Meds: Enbrel: Once a week injection, Vitamin B-12 injection monthly, Vitamin D :Once a week.
