Has anyone every struggled with ear pain and ongoing ear infections related to Crohn's?
I recently went back on a burst of steroids after a dx of oral CD ulcers, following an ear infection in the right ear and bronhitis two weeks ago.   It has remained boogey and my outer ear has had a few sores as the inner ear healed.
Now after my 4th day on steriods, I have a sharp intermitten pain in my left ear.
I'm really cofused.  Can anyone relate?

Haven't ever heard of that associated with Crohns. Maybe you didn't get your ear infection cleared up well, and its returning?? Sorry not more help. Hugs!

I know that this is a very old post, but it came up in response to my search for "ear aches and crohn's". I am having ongoing each infections. I have not been on any Crohn's meds in years, I try to manage with diet and naturopathic remedies. about a month ago after my routine dental appointment I started to have flare ups in my throat and mouth. It is just at the very tail end of healing this flare up, but now I am having issues with my ear again. I read someplace that ear aches can be related to mouth/throat infections. If I just go to my family doc I will just get antibiotics, which just messes up my digestive system. UGH. I am curious how you are doing with your each pains. Thanks.

I think the key is the dental exam. I used to have constant infections like this, and after getting an infection when I had a root canal, I started noticing my dentist touching equipment, his glasses, his hair, etc. with his gloved hands while he was working on me. I put two and two together and stopped seeing him. I haven't had a sore throat or ear infection since.

My orthodontist had extremely good hygiene measures (this was before I used the above dentist) in place and I still had a lot of these types of infections. I think mostly that was due to his having so many school aged kids in the office.
